What does HALAL means to Non-Muslims?‏

What does HALAL means to Non-Muslims?‏

What does HALAL means to Non-Muslims?
What is Halal? why Muslims are so specific about "Halal" of their food, what are the benefits of Halal? And will it benefit me?
Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. The opposite of halal is haram, which means unlawful or prohibited , this term restrict only for food but it carries varies range of areas such as Finance, Market, Dressing, etc... Here are focusing to learn what is Halal food and what does it mean to Non-Muslims.

All foods are considered halal except the following (which are haram):

  • Swine/Pork and its by-products [Read more on WHY PORK IS PROHIBITED ]
  • Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering
  • Alcoholic drinks and intoxicants
  • Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and certain other animals
  • Foods contaminated with any of the above products
Choosing an animal for slaughteringThe animals that have the following defects cannot be slaughtered

01
 - Blindness in both or one eye.
02-A third or more of an ear cut off.
03-Total lameness of one or more legs. (However, if the animal is partially lame or the leg is not so severely injured and it is able to walk with it although limping, then the animal is valid for sacrifice.)
04-An extremely emaciated and weak animal.
05-The majority of teeth have fallen out. If the of teeth which have fallen out are greater than the number of remaining teeth, the animal is not valid for sacrifice.
06-An animal born without ears.
07-A horn broken off at the base or root. if the horn is only partially broken off, the animal is valid for sacrifice.

The Life of the Animal

The kind of treatment and feed an animal receives during its life is important. It should be not be abused, mistreated or caused any pain. It should not be confined to an area where it cannot move or walk normally or get fresh air. It should be fed clean water and food that is appropriate and absolutely never fed another animal or products that contain the by-products of other animals.

The Sacrifice of the Animal

· As an animal should be treated well during its life, it should also be treated well at the time it is sacrificed for us.
· The slaughter should never be done in the presence of other animals and the animal should be made comfortable as it is positioned for the sacrifice.
· The act of the sacrifice should be done with a sharp object, so as to accelerate the process and reduce the pain suffered by the animal as much as possible.

Healthier Food
(Afterwords) the blood should be completely drained from the animal. It is the blood that carries toxins, germs and bacteria and when left inside the body of the animal, could potentially make people sick. At the very least, it could make the cooked meat quite tough. An amazing result of cooking and consuming halal meat is a healthy meat in which the resulting texture is tender and the meat delicious. Some people say they can “taste the difference”.

In short: Halal Food means to Non-Muslims
For an animal to go from farm to table as halal food, it must have lived a pure life from the very beginning, finishing a cycle of life that is permissible in accordance with Islamic standards. It must have eaten well, been treated well, and been sacrificed well.

Verses of Hold Quran About Monotheism (Tauheed or Tawheed) i.e. belief in one Allah alone

Monotheism (Tauheed or Tawheed) i.e. belief in one Allah alone is such a strong Faith and foundation of Islam upon which the whole structure of Islam is based. All Prophets have called their people on True Faith. Worship is exclusive right of Allah owed to Him alone. Monotheism is such an important part of Faith that Prophet (P.B.U.H) during the thirteen years of His preaching in Makkah focused on Tauheed (Oneness of Allah) mainly and called people upon Tawheed by forbidding any partners to Allah. The Holy Quran is full of this concept of Monotheism and most of the verses of Holy Quran are about Monotheism.Monotheism Verses of Holy Quran about Monotheism (Tauheed)
Every Prophet taught His people the same lesson:
“Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!” [Al-A’raf 7: 59]
“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) all false deities” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth).” [An-Nahl 16:36]
The basis of our Creation is to worship Allah:
“And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).” [Az-Zariyat 51:56]
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him…” [Al-Isra’ 17:23]
“Say (O Muhammad P.B.U.H): “Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him….” [Al-An’am 6:151]
Every Muslim in His Five Prayers confirms this Belief:
“You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything)” [Al-Fatihah 1:5]
Some of the verses that mention Monotheism are:
1. “And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Qur’an), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in the punishment for his sins” [Al-Jinn 72:13]
2. “Say (O Muhammad P.B.U.H): “Who provides for you from the sky and the earth? Or who owns hearing and sight? And who brings out the living from the dead and brings out the dead from the living? And who disposes the affairs?” They will say: “Allah.” Say: “Will you not then be afraid of Allah’s punishment (for setting up rivals in worship with Allah)?” [Yunus 10:31]
3. “Has he made the Alihah (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God – Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!” [Surah Sad 38:5]
4. “That is Allah, your Lord!. There is no god but He, the Creator of all things. Then worship Him, and He has power to dispose of all affairs” [Al-An’am 6:102]
5. “And verily, if you ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” Surely they will say: “Allah (has created them).” Say: “Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allah – if Allah intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm? Or if He (Allah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?” Say: “Sufficient for me is Allah; in Him those who trust (i.e. believers) must put their trust.” [Az-Zumar 39:38]
6. “Were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief.” [At-tur 52:35,36]
7. “And they say: “There is nothing but our life of this world, we die and we live and nothing destroys us except Ad-Dahr (time). And they have no knowledge of it: they only conjecture.” [Al-Jathiya 45:24]
8. “This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship) besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrongdoers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error.” [Luqman 31:11]
9. “Say (O Muhammad P.B.U.H): “Think you about all that you invoke besides Allah? Show me. What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed before this), or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!”” [Al-Ahqaf 46:4]
10. “[Musa (Moses)] said: “Verily, you know that these signs have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth (as clear evidence i.e. proofs of Allah’s Oneness and His Omnipotence.). And I think you are, indeed, O Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) doomed to destruction!”” [Al-Isra 17:102]
tawheed Verses of Holy Quran about Monotheism (Tauheed)
11. “And they rejected those signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced there of…” [An-Naml 27:14]
12. “O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).
13. Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped)” [Al-Baqarah 2:21,22]
14. “And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father and his people: “Verily, I am innocent of what you worship, Except Him (i.e. Allah Alone) Who did create me; and verily He will guide me.” [Az-Zukhruf 43:26-7]
15. “There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” [Al-Baqarah 2:256]
16. “…..Then anyone who violates his oath does so to the harm of his own soul. And anyone who fulfils what has been covenanted to Allah; Allah will soon grant his a great reward” [Al-Fath 48:10]
17. “And I have followed the religion of my fathers, – Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya‘qub (Jacob) [A.S], and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him).” [Yusuf 12:38]
18. “And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith: to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.” [At-Tur 52:21]
19. “And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His punishment)?” ” [Al-Mu’minun 23:23-4]
One Allah Verses of Holy Quran about Monotheism (Tauheed)
20. “And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). When he said to his father and his people: “What do you worship?” They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.” He said: “Do they hear you, when you call on (them)? “Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?” They said: “(Nay) but we found our fathers doing so.”” [As-Shu’ara 26:69-74]
21. “Those who took partners (in worship) with Allah will say: “If Allah had willed, we would not have taken partners (in worship) with Him, nor would our fathers, and we would not have forbidden anything (against His Will).” Likewise belied those who were before them, (they argued falsely with Allah’s Messengers), till they tasted Our Wrath. Say: “Have you any knowledge (proof) that you can produce before us? Verily, you follow nothing but guess and you do nothing but lie.” [Al-An’am 6:148]
22. “And they said: “If it had been the Will of the Most Gracious (Allah), we should not have worshipped them (false deities).” They have no knowledge whatsoever of that. They do nothing but lie!” [Az-Zukhruf 43:20]
23. “And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad P.B.U.H) but We revealed to him (saying): Lâ ilâha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and none else).” [Al-Anbiya 21:25]
“24. And ask (O Muhammad P.B.U.H) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: “Did We ever appoint Gods to be worshipped besides the Most Gracious (Allah)?”” [Az-Zukhruf 43:45]
25. “Surely the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Protectors (helpers, lords, gods) besides Him (say): “We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah.” Verily Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.” [Az-Zumar 39:3]
26. “And they worship besides Allah things that harm them not, nor profit them, and they say: “These are our intercessors with Allah.” Say: “Do you inform Allah of that which He knows not in the heavens and on the earth?” Glorified and Exalted is He above all that which they associate as partners (with Him)!” [Yunus 10:18]
27. “…..Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?…..” [Al-Baqarah 2:255]
28. “And there are many angels in the heavens, whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He wills and is pleased with” [An-Najm 53:26]
29. “Verily! I am Allah! Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) for My Remembrance” [Surah Ta-Ha 20:14]
30. “And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other God, of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! The Disbelievers will not be successful.” [Al-Mu’minun 23:117]
31. “…..False worship (shirk) is indeed the highest wrongdoing” [Luqman 31:13]
32. “Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives anything else to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin” [An-Nisa 4:48]
33. “….whoever assigns partners to Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.” [Al-Hajj 22:31]
This is a brief description on Monotheism related Quranic verses but if we read Quran and Hadith, we come to know that they are full of teaching regarding Oneness of Allah. Sura Ikhlas summarizes Islamic monotheism in a comprehensive manner. Watch this video of Recitation of Surah Ikhlas:

Can Dua Change Destiny

Can Dua Change Destiny

tumblr lftrpnANuE1qgt4huo1 500 262x300 Can Duas change Destiny

Du’a is an act of worship. It is the weapon of the believer and the only thing which can change Fate or Destiny. Du’aa’ is very important. It can change the Divine decree and relieve distress. Allah Says in Holy Quran:
“And your Lord said: ‘Invoke Me [i.e. believes in My Oneness and asks Me for anything] I will respond to your (invocation). Verily, those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!’” [Surah Ghaafir 40:60]
In another Verse, Allah says:
“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad PBUH) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:186]
Dua is beneficial with regard to what has been decreed and what has not been decreed.
The Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said: “Nothing can change the Divine decree except Dua.”(Narrated by Ahmad, 5/677; Ibn Maajah, 90; al-Tirmidhi, 139. Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 76687. See also al-Saheehah, 145)
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “Du’aa’ may be of benefit with regard to what has already happened or what has not yet happened, so adhere to Du’aa’, O slaves of Allaah.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3548)
If a person says that he does not say Dua because he relies on the divine decree, he is wrong, because Allah has made Dua and asking means of attaining His forgiveness, mercy, guidance, support and provision. If good is decreed for a person he will attain by means of Du’aa’ what he cannot attain without Du’aa’.
The Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said: “No precaution can protect against the decree of Allaah. Du’aa’ is beneficial with regard to what has been decreed and what has not been decreed. The du’aa’ meets the calamity that has been decreed and wrestles with it, until the Day of Resurrection.” (Narrated by al-Tabaraani, 2/800 (33). Al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7739, (it is) hasan).

How Duas can prevent Calamities:
Du’a is one of the most beneficial of remedies; it is the enemy of calamity; it wards it off, remedies it, prevents it befalling, alleviates it or reduces it if it befalls. It is the weapon of the believer. In the case of calamity, one of three scenarios must apply:
1. If Dua is stronger than the calamity, so it wards it off.
2. If it is weaker than the calamity, so the calamity overpowers it and befalls the person, but it may reduce it even if it is weak.
3. They resist one another and each impedes the other.
Du’a is one of the means by which what is asked for is attained. Dua is the only thing that wards off the divine decree. For example, a Person may pray to Allah for achieving something and he achieves it with the help of Dua, If he didn’t Pray he wouldn’t have achieved it. But we should say: Allah decreed that the person would get that thing by means of Du’a, and this is what was decreed. He thinks that were it not for the Dua he would have been deprived of it, but in fact he did not ward off the divine decree, because the basic principle is that Du’a was decreed and that the person would get that thing by means of Du’a, and this is the original fate that was decreed from eternity. The same applies to everything that is decreed to happen through some means or cause. Allah has made this means the cause for the thing to happen, and that was written from eternity, before it happened.
In a saheeh Hadeeth the Messenger of Allaah (Peace be upon Him) said: “A person may be deprived of provision because of sins that he commits, and the decree is not warded of by anything but Dua, and nothing increases one’s lifespan except righteousness.”
So, we should realize the importance of Dua and ask Allah for everything. We should make Dua for all things in our life big and small. Also we should make Dua at all times, not only during times of distress. May Allah accept our Duas. Ameen.

Can We Enjoy Worldly Pleasure?

Can We Enjoy Worldly Pleasure?
financial advice money bag Can we enjoy Worldly Pleasures?
Money
Being a Muslim we aim for the afterlife but is enjoying this worldly life Haram? Is it true that a Muslim can’t aim to have a good life with luxuries? These are the questions we are confronted with at some point of our lives. So, what is the solution? The answer lies in the following Hadith.
Narrated by Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri
Allah’s Apostle said, “The thing I am afraid of most for your sake, is the worldly blessings which Allah will bring forth to you.” It was said, “What are the blessings of this world?” The Prophet (saw) said, “The pleasures of the world.” A man said, “Can the good bring forth evil?” The Prophet(saw) kept quiet for a while till we thought that he was being inspired divinely. Then he started removing the sweat from his forehead and said,” Where is the questioner?” That man said, “I (am present).” Abu Sa’id added: We thanked the man when the result (of his question) was such. The Prophet(saw) said, “Good never brings forth but good. This wealth (of the world) is (like) green and sweet (fruit), and all the vegetation which grows on the bank of a stream either kills or nearly kills the animal that eats too much of it, except the animal that eats the Khadira (a kind of vegetation). Such an animal eats till its stomach is full and then it faces the sun and starts ruminating and then it passes out dung and urine and goes to eat again. This worldly wealth is (like) sweet (fruit), and if a person earns it (the wealth) in a legal way and spends it properly, then it is an excellent helper, and whoever earns it in an illegal way, he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied.” [Bukhari]
In this Hadith the reality is explained that the wealth is indeed a human need. And there is no harm in working for it but the catch is from where you take it and where you spend it. IF these two things are right then this wealth is nothing less than a blessing as evident by another hadith.
The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “Do not wish to be like anyone, except in two cases: (1) A man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously. (2) A man whom Allah has given wisdom (knowledge of the Qur’an and the Hadith) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others.” [Bukhari]
This is the true beauty of Islam it provides an objective for attaining anything. So, if you want to be a billionaire then be a pious billionaire and get the best of both worlds icon smile Can we enjoy Worldly Pleasures?

LETS BUILD 12 HOUSES IN PARADISE

LETS BUILD 12 HOUSES IN PARADISE
Everybody wants to enter Paradise. In Jannah, there are things that no eyes have ever seen, nor ears have ever heard, and that things in it are beyond our imagination and comprehension. Allah says:“And whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted.” [17:19] Prophet (PBUH) has taught us some simple acts which are easy to follow and help us in building houses for ourselves in Paradise. Let’s follow these easy steps and build 12 houses for ourselves in Paradise:
House 1: Narrated Mua’z bin Anas (R.A): “Whoever recites ‘Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad’ and completes it ten times, then Allah will build a palace for him in Paradise.” as-Silsilah as-Sahihah, No. 589
House 2: Reported by Umm Habibah (R.A) Allaah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H) said: “A house will be built in Heaven for one who prays 12 Sunnat Rak’aat in a day and evening as follows: 4 Rak’aat before and 2 after the Dhuhr Prayer, 2 after the Maghrib Prayer, 2 after the ‘Ishaa’ Prayer and 2 before the Fajr Prayer.” Narrated by at-Tirmizi
House 3: “Whoever enters the marketplace and says this Dua: [La ilaha ill-Allah, Wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-Mulk, wa lahul-Hamd, yuhyiyy wa yumit, wa Huwa Hayyun la yamut, bi Yadihil-Khayr wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadir] ‘There is none worthy of worship except Allah who has no partners, for Him is the Dominion, and for Him is all Praise, He brings life and He causes death, and He is Alive and does not die, in His Hand is all good, and He is able to do all things,’then Allah will write one million good deeds for him, and will wipe away one million of his bad deeds, and will raise h im one million levels and will build a home for him in Paradise.” [Sahih al-Jami #6231]
keys to paradise islam 256x300 Lets build 12 houses in Paradise
House 4: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a Masjid (mosque) for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” [Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim]
House 5, 6, 7: Narrated Abu Umamah radiallahu ‘anhu the Prophet (PBUH) said:”I am a guarantor for a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whosoever leaves off arguing, even if he is in the right; and a house in the center of Paradise for whosoever abandons falsehood, even when joking; and a house in the upper-most part of Paradise for whosoever makes his character good.” Related by Abu Dawud (no.4800)
House 8: Narrated Abu Musa (R.A) the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: “Whoever prays the four Rakat of Ishraq (sunrise Prayer) and four Rakat before the Zuhar Salat, A house is built for Him in Paradise” [As-Silsilah as-Sahihah]
House 9: Abu Musa Ash’ari (R.A) relates that Allah asks the angels on the death of some one’s child: ‘Have you taken the soul of my servant’s child?’ The angels say: ‘Yes’. Then Allah asks again: ‘Did you take the soul of my servant’s darling child?’ Angels say: ‘Yes’. Allah asks again: “What did my servant say?” The angels say that he glorified Your name and said: “Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Ra’ji’oon.” Allah commands that a house for such of my servants be built in Paradise and be named as “Bait-ul-Hamd” – the house of thanks. [Tirmizi]
walkparadise 300x300 Lets build 12 houses in Paradise
House 10: “If one completes (and perfects) the ablution and then says, ‘I testify that there is no god except Allah, the One Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger,” the eight gates of paradise will be opened for him and he may enter any of them that he wishes.” [Muslim]
House 11: Narrated Sahl bin Sad (R.A) the Prophet (PBUH) said “Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him.” [Bukhari]
House 12: Abu Hurairah (R.A) reported that Allaah’s Messenger (PBUH) said: “If a woman prays her five (daily) prayers and keeps her private parts chaste and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise from any of the doors of Paradise she wishes.” [Reported by Ibn Hibbaan] Watch this great video about ‘Ten Phrases that lead to success’:

Wife Abuse

Wife Abuse

"The most perfect Muslim in the matter of faith is one who has excellent behavior; and the best among you are those who behave best toward their wives." (Tirmithi)
How can it be said that a man is the protector of his wife, if he intentionally strikes, chokes, pushes or is violent in any way that results in her physical injury or bruising?
The Noble Qur'an - An-Nisaa 4:34
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allâh and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allâh orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see illconduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allâh is Ever Most High, Most Great.
The Prophet, saaws, advised one Muslim woman, whose name was Fatimah bint Qais, not to marry a man because the man was known for beating women:
Hadith - Sahih Muslim
"I went to the Prophet and said: Abul Jahm and Mu'awiah have proposed to marry me. The Prophet (by way of advice) said: As to Mu'awiah he is very poor and Abul Jahm is accustomed to beating women"
It is haram (prohbited) for a man to ever strike the face of a Muslimah, for any reason, or to any degree. This statement is not a support for abusing women in a way that may potentially harm her, but a condementation of striking the face:
Hadith - Sunan of Abu Dawood, Narrated by Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri
Mu'awiyah asked: Apostle of Allah, what is the right of the wife of one of us over him? He replied: That you should give her food when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike her on the face, do not revile her or separate yourself from her except in the house.

Cigarette Smoking Is it Haraam in Islam?

Many Muslims regard smoking as MAKROOH (disliked) by the Shariah but not HARAAM ( forbidden). Whenever advice is given in this regard they choose to ignore it. Though people know the evil effects of smoking, it seems that Shaytaan and their nafs wants them to continue wasting their money and cause harm to their bodies and HEALTH.
Certainly, Cigarettes were not present during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W.), however rulings AND GUIDELINES with regards to similar substances are present in the two Revelations: the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah.(hadith)
As a rule, the Qur’aan forbids every thing that is evil. As Allah says: “”He (the Prophet Muhammed) allows them all that is good and lawful, and prohibits them as unlawful all that is evil.”" {Surah al-Ar’’af (7): 157}
Evil and sin manifests itself in things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, drinks, etc. So, If it is proved that smoking is among the evil, this is in itself enough for the Believers to realize that smoking is forbidden, in the light of the above stated verse of Soorah al-Ar’’af.
1. Smoking is a Killer: It causes diseases like lung cancer, tuberculosis and heart diseases (just to mention a few). And we know that Allah forbids us from killing ourselves. As He says: “”And do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you. And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire and that is easy for Allah”" {Surah an-Nisaa’’ (4): 29}
Allah also says: “”And do not throw yourselves into destruction.”" {Surah al-Baqarah (2):195
2. Smoking burns(waste) wealth: And Allah says: “”But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the devils.” {Surah al-Israa’’ (17) 26-27}
Do we not see the Muslims who smoke? Those who hold on to every cent , only to burn all of it in cigerettes! ……. Subhaan Allaah, along with their health, waste on top of waste. (Health and money.)
3. Smoking inflicts harm on non-smokers: The Messenger of Allah said: “”There should be neither harming, nor reciprocating harm.”"
{Saheeh al-Jaami # 7517} Many people encounter breathing problems when they accidentally inhale smoke from someone’’s pipe or cigerette, especially people suffering from bronchial asthma. It is also proved medically that non-smokers are harmed when in the company of smokers (i.e. passive smoking). The smoking of parents has

been linked to respiratory problems in children and crib death. It is also the cause of many devastating fires.
4. Smoking causes the spread of sin and evil: Since smoking is evil, Muslims who smoke should remember that they set a bad example on others when they smoke openly, encouraging young children AND OTHERS to smoke.
5. Smoking effects worship: Many smokers dislike fasting and sitting in Islamic study circles, LECTURES, because they constantly crave cigarettes. The smoker is an addict, both physically and psychologically.
6. Smoking makes the smoker and surrounding smell bad: Everything that a smoker comes in contact with smell of cigarettes; His car, clothes, home, etc. Therefore, when a smoker prays in congregation he hurts his fellow humans with his smell as well as the angels, as the Messenger of Allaah said: “”Whoever has eaten from such greens as garlic, onions or leek should keep away from our mosque. Truly, the angels are harmed by what harms the offspring of Aadam.”"Saheeh al-Bukhari

The above points constitute clear evidence that smoking is evil, and is therefore Haraam (unlawful). If a Muslim is under any kind of stress, then he must turn to Allaah for help. Even medical science has rejected outright, the myth that smoking calms the nerves. What we know for sure, is that the rememberence of Allaah is healing, as Allaah says: “”Verily in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find tranquility.”" {Soorah ar-Raad (13):28}
So when the urge for smoking arises, resort to the Qur’aan and strive to comply with Allaah’’s commandments.
“”Those who strive hard in Our Cause, We will surely guide them to Our Paths.”" {Soorah al-Ankabut (29):69
To Quit Smoking

One can use the following measures/guidance while relying on Allah, seeking His help and guidance ,to quit smoking.
1. Try to remember that you want to gain the pleasure of Allah. Throw away all leftover cigarettes ,remember you have made a firm intention not to smoke.
2. Minimize contact with smokers (this being the most important step).
3.Try to minimize drinking , ESPECIALLY drinks that become mentally related to smoking like coffee, tea, (CAFFEINE), CORDENE ,ETC.
4. Whenever there is an urge to smoke, try to make yourself busy with something else, especially activities that keep your hands busy.
5. Try not to accept a cigarette from anyone.
6. If the need be, Try not to finish smoking, the whole cigarette.
7. Drink a lot of water when you quit smoking. Dehydration is the main cause of the symptoms of withdrawal.
8. Increase the use of the miswaak.
9. Keep company of the pious , KEEP THE TONGUE BUSY WITH THE ZIKR OF ALLAH.
10. Make dua.

"Proof of Cigarette being Haram"

Allah says, "And forbid them what is bad." - (Surah Al-'Araf, 7:157)

"O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling are an abomination of Satan's handiwork. Eschew such abominations that ye may prosper." - (Surah Al Ma'idah, 5:93)

"And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden..." - (Surah, Al-Isra, 17:33)

"And make not your own hands contribute to your destruction." - (Surah, Al-Baqara, 2:195)

"Nor kill or destroy yourselves for verily Allah hath been to you most Merciful." (Surah, An-Nisa, 4:29)

Prophet Mohammed (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Nor be hurt or injure others."

It is scientifically proven that the exhaled smoke of the smoker is hazardous to non-smokers around him.

Breathing of smoke caused by someone else is known as "passive smoking". It is also known as involuntary smoking or second hand smoking. Approximately 50,000 non smoker deaths from heart related issues can be linked to passive smoking each year.

Allah says: "But squander not your wealth in the manner of a spend thrift, verily spendthrifts are brothers of evils." - (Surah, Al-Isra, 17:26, 27)

The amount of money a smoker spends on cigarette smoking in a period of 30 years is calculated to be Two Hundred Thousand Dollars or more. All this money is simply wasted (not including the money spent on smoker's health care).

Suggestion: Quit this evil act, repent to Allah and do not stay around such friends;

The Qur'an informs us that on the Day of Judgment there will be people who will bite their hands in regret that they were lead astray because of choosing wrong people as their friends, they would say;

"Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur'an) after it had come to me.' (The Glorious Qur'an 25: 27)

Therefore; Smoking is absolutely Haram, and Allah knows best

"Any good is from Allah & the mistakes were from myself"

Inviting Towards Allah And Conveying His Message

Allah SWT says:

By the time,
Verily! man is in loss,
except those who believe, and do good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth,
and recommend one another to the patience. Al- Asr 103: 1-3

Note: For salvation there are four essential requirements. 1. Iman, 2. Good Actions, 3. Recomending one another to the truth, 4. Recommending one another to patience.

In this Surah Muslims have been given very great guidence; Which is this, that just as it is necessary to correct ones's own Iman and Actions, so also it is equally important to struggle for the improvement of the Iman and actions of other Muslims. In particular one's immediate family and relatives. Correcting one's own personal Iman and actions is not enough. For this reason in the light of Quran and Hadith it is obligatory (Fard) to order to good and forbid evil to the extent of one's capacity. In this matter not only the ordinary Muslim but many religious Muslims are negligent and think that one's personal actions are sufficient; being totally in different to what their children and family do.

May Allah give all of us the strength to act on the guidence given in this Surah. Amiin.
